I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, and a licensed professional counselor who desires to create a safe, comfortable environment for you to work on what is troubling you. I see my role as assisting you to better understand your challenges, and to access your resources to address them. I believe in the resilience of each person and bring a great deal of my own creativity and energy to each of my clients. I strive to be respectful and supportive of the individuals, couples and families I work with, and am always mindful that I am working for you, to your benefit.
I provide a systemic perspective to each presenting problem, and often use a brief therapy, or solution-focused model of treatment. I have been practicing as a licensed therapist for over 14 years. In the past 10 years I have developed a particular interest and expertise in the area of perinatal mental health. Go to the page, "The Center For Postpartum Family Health" for more information.
I also do couples counseling for dating, co-habitating, engaged, separated and married couples. I am certified in the Prepare/Enrich premarital counseling program. I provide family therapy for families in transition related to many life challenges including parenting, empty nest, caring for elderly parents, step-families and more. WIth individual clients I often address life and work issues, relationships, spirituality, self-care and stress management.
My office is a cozy, home-like atmosphere, designed for comfort and security, in a quiet professional building near Greenway Plaza. I take lunchtime appointments every day I am in the office, and evening appointments once a week.
